Wingfoot Juniors Team Wins Big at Hershey District

Scottsdale, AZ — The shorter Wingfooters took to the track last weekend. The children of Wingfoot Finish team members were made proud when Carlin Resendez (3rd leg) and Geoffrey DeShazo (anchor) ran an astounding 4 x 100 meter relay with teammates Kyree and Braydon at the Hershey Track and Field District Meet. The boys, representing Team Gilbert, qualified for the event by winning the local Hershey Track & Field event last month.

Their time of 63.9 was an amazing 6 seconds off their previous mark. That time would have placed them in the top-6 at the national meet.

With the win they now move on to the State Meet. The meet will be held in mid-June in Glendale, Arizona. There is a possibility that this team may qualify for the National meet, which is held in Hershey, Penn in early August. They’ll have to turn in an impressive mark in order to be selected to the national team.
